Basing House is set in the heart of the picturesque village of Old Basing in North Hampshire. The high-ceilinged Great Barn, delightful river walk and pristine walled garden create stunning backdrops making the site the perfect place for couples looking for a peaceful and beautiful wedding. 

Dating back as far as 1000s, and once the playground and honeymoon destination of the Tudor monarchy, this estate has also weathered extensive hardship. Once caught in the middle of the English Civil War, Basing House’s Great Barn now proudly shows its battle scars. The House itself now exists only as a collection of romantic ruins and a beautiful walled garden. 

Choose between hosting your wedding in the Great Barn, or in a marquee in the grounds of this once great house. Both spaces within the Basing House estate are charming spots for a celebration. In the barn you’ll dine under its famous oak beams and the huge space offers much in the way of customisation and space for up to 250 guests for a seated reception. In the gardens you’ll find yourself where royalty once stood, with the space lending itself well to marquees and outdoor parties.
